Nourishing Warm Smoothie

Ingredients:

4-7 Nuts: almonds, walnuts, cashews, macadamia nuts

1-3 Dates

1Tbsp Dried cranberries 

1Tbsp Chia

1/2Tbsp Sesame seeds

1 Banana 

1 Apple

1Tbsp Ginger

1/2 Tbsp Turmeric 

1/2 cup Oats

1Tbsp Ghee or coconut oil 

1tsp Cinnamon, cardamom, fennel

1 cup water or *Milk is optional

Prep the night before. Soaking ingredients is key in supporting the digestion system! 

  1. Begin with three cups to soak some of your ingredients in. One cup for nuts & dried fruits, one cup for chia seeds & sesame seeds, & one cup for your oats.

          - *If you use almonds* The next morning peel off the skin before using. 

In the AM:

  1. In a pot start with the ghee or coconut oil & the spices. Warm up but do not burn!

  2. Add minced ginger & turmeric, then chopped up banana and apple. Allow for the ingredients to cook together. 

  3. Add in oats next & mix together well. 

  4. Water or milk is next. Stir together on low heat for about 10 minutes or until the oats are done. 

  5. Drain the soaked nuts, dried fruits & seeds. 

  6. Get a blender! Time to bring it all together. Add the nuts, dried fruits, seeds, & everything from the pot into the blender and blend it all up! 

  7. Enjoy! Add sweetener as desired.
